Education Provider Certification 

 

This Education Provider is certified by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. The Commission’s address is 1313 Navaho Drive, Raleigh, NC 27609. Any complaints concerning the Education Provider or its affiliated instructors should be directed in writing to the Commission. A link to the Complaint Form is provided on the Commission’s homepage (ncrec.gov). 

 

Per Commission Rule 58H .0204, the Education Provider must provide each prospective student with a copy of the Education Provider’s Policies & Procedures Disclosure (PPD) prior to payment of any non-refundable tuition or fee. The PPD, which is required by the NC Real Estate Commission, outlines Education Provider policies plus the rights and obligations of the Provider and the student. A signed certification that a student received a copy of the PPD must be retained by the Provider. 

 

NO STUDENT SHALL BE DENIED ADMISSION ON THE BASIS OF AGE, SEX, RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN, FAMILIAL STATUS, HANDICAPPING CONDITION, OR RELIGION. 

 

 

Course Offerings

 

Flip Side School of Real Estate conducts: 

  • The annual Continuing Education courses needed to maintain a real estate license on active status. 

 

Broker Continuing Education Program

 

Purpose of the Continuing Education Program:

 

The primary objective of the mandatory Continuing Education Program is to help assure that licensees possess the knowledge, skills, and competency necessary to function in the real estate business in a manner that protects and serves real estate consumers and the public interest.

Per G.S.93A-38.5, brokers must complete eight (8) credit hours of instruction annually in subjects approved by the Commission in order to retain eligibility to actively engage in real estate brokerage. Per Commission Rule 58A .1702, the eight hours must be comprised of an Update course and four credit hours of elective courses.

 

Course Description(s) 

 

  • General Update (GenUp): The General Update Course as created by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission for NON-BIC and NON-BIC Eligible brokers provides licensees with current information and updates relating to brokerage services. 

  • Broker-in-Charge Update (BICUP): The Broker-In-Charge Update Course as created by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission provides BIC-Eligible licensees with current information and updates relating to brokerage services.

  • Additional Elective Courses and details will be listed on the Education Provider’s website.

 

Course Materials 

 

Students will be provided all course materials by the start of the class. 

 

Eligibility Requirements for Course Completion Certificate 

 

Per Commission Rule 58A .1705(a): 

 

In order to receive credit for completing an approved continuing education course, a broker shall: 

  • Attend at least 90 percent of the scheduled instructional hours for the course; 

  • Provide his or her legal name and license number to the education provider; 

  • Present his or her pocket card or photo identification card, if necessary; and 

  • Personally perform all work required to complete the course. 

 

All-Inclusive Tuition/Fees 

 

All course prices can be found on the Education Provider’s website under each course listing. Course prices may vary at the provider’s discretion. 

 

Registration, Enrollment, Technology, and Conduct

 

Registration:

 

To enroll in a course, prospective students must visit www.flipsideschool.com and register for the course they would like to take directly on the website. Students will receive confirmation of class enrollment at their designated email address used during registration.

 

Synchronous (Live Online) Class Information:

 

For Synchronous (Live Online) courses, you will receive an email within 48-hours of the start of the course containing details and information on how to link to the class. This communication will be sent to the email address provided during registration. If a student registers for class within the 48-hour window, a confirmation with the class link will be delivered prior to class. 

 

Prior to registering, please ensure you have access to a device that has video and microphone capabilities. If utilizing a mobile device, such as a cell phone or tablet, the student must be stationary. Walking or driving will be considered grounds for dismissal from the class without a refund.

 

Students are responsible for ensuring their email address is accurate. Please check spam/junk folders or any other email folder if a link to the class is not received within the 48-hour period prior to class. If the link is not received or cannot be found, the student must contact Flip Side School of Real Estate no later than 2-hours of the start of class. Flip Side School of Real Estate WILL NOT be considered responsible, and no refund or reschedule will be allowed if a student fails to check email and/or does not contact the education provider no later than 2-hours prior to the start of class to inform the education provider of the issue. 

 

Technology Requirements for Online Courses:

 

Students enrolled in one of our Synchronous course offerings may access the course using any desktop or laptop device that has functioning video and microphone capabilities. A webcam and microphone are required. Students are allowed to connect to the class through a mobile device, but any student found driving or walking during the class session will be disconnected and dismissed from the classroom without a refund or right to reschedule. 

 

Students will need to download and install the most recent version of Zoom and ensure all hardware and software are working prior to the start of class. 

 

Students must be in a well-lit room so they are visible on camera and must remain on camera at all timesduring instruction. Students using a mobile device must remain stationary. They are not permitted to connect from a vehicle and will be removed from the course immediately if found driving or walking during the session. No refund or grounds for rescheduling will be given if the student is dismissed or removed from the class.

 

Technology Support:

 

If a student is registered for a synchronous course and is unsure of how to use the technology, they may contact Technical Support through the education provider’s email address no later than 24-hours PRIOR TOthe start of class for assistance. The student must include a detailed description of the issues or concerns. Our technical support will address the problem as soon as possible. 

 

Students must ensure they know how to use Zoom, their camera, and their microphone PRIOR TO the start of class. Flip Side School of Real Estate will not be able to assist with technical issues that could have been resolved before class began, nor held responsible for assisting with technical issues related to personal electronic devices.

Use of Technology in the Classroom:

 

The following guidelines will be enforced, and apply to in-person and synchronous education:

  • Students may use electronic devices to enhance their learning, including taking notes, researching class topics, or viewing the online version of the NC Real Estate Manual. 

    • Sending personal emails/texts, shopping online, visiting social networking sites, or playing games are disruptions and are not acceptable student conduct. If an instructor discovers that a student is using an electronic device for these (or similar) purposes, the student will be asked to stop the activity.

  • Sound on electronic devices must be muted during class sessions.

  • The possession and use of electronic devices (other than a basic calculator) are strictly prohibited during all quizzes and exams.

 

Payment for Tuition:

 

Flip Side School of Real Estate accepts the following forms of payment: most major credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay. We do not accept cash or checks.

 

Attendance: 

 

  •  Early departures from CE courses delivered in-person or via synchronous distance learning are prohibited by Rule 58A .1705. 

  • Attendance will be closely monitored, including late arrivals and early departures from class sessions and from all scheduled breaks, during in-person and synchronous distance learning courses. All time missed will be recorded for each student. 

  • Students may not be enrolled in more than one class if the scheduled meeting times overlap.

 

Student Conduct:

 

Students are expected to actively engage in the learning process in all courses offered by the education provider. Engagement requires full attention of the students, without outside distractions. 

 

Behaviors that will be grounds for immediate dismissal and removal from the classroom include:

  • Sleeping or laying down during the course

  • Disruptive talking or noise

  • Engaging in internet activity outside of the course material

  • Texting

  • Talking or placing phone calls

  • Having in-person conversations during class

  • Driving a vehicle

  • Talking out of turn

  • Bullying or humiliating other students or the instructor

  • Profane language

Furthermore, all students are expected to be fully clothed in appropriate attire for public viewing. Any student violating these rules of conduct will be immediately dismissed and removed from the classroom without the right to a refund or rescheduling.

 

Cheating:

 

If a student is discovered to be cheating in any manner, the student will be immediately dismissed, will receive a failing course grade, will not be eligible for any retake or makeup policies, and will be reported to the NC Real Estate Commission [per Commission Rule 58H .0203(h)]. 

 

Course Cancellation or Rescheduling / Refunds:

 

Flip Side School of Real Estate reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course as needed. If a course needs to be canceled or rescheduled, we will strive to provide notice at least 48-hours prior to the start of the class. Notification will be submitted via email or text to the email address of phone number provided by the student during registration. 

 

If a course is canceled or rescheduled, students will have the following options: students may may move their registration to a future course of the same type within 90 days of the originally scheduled date, request a full refund.

 

Withdrawals and Transfers / Refunds: 

A student may withdraw from a course by giving written notice to the Education Provider prior to the start of the course. In such event, the student will have the following options: 

  • Transfer to a later course of the same type no later than 90 days after the originally scheduled course date.

  • Request a refund (Please note that any refunds approved by the Education Provider may be reduced by the cost of materials already purchased for the student by the school).

    • Refunds will only be issued if written notice to the Education Provider is received no later than 24-hours PRIOR TO the start of the course. If notice is received on or after 24-hours prior to the start of the course, the student will not be entitled to a refund.
